Eligibility: This award is open to post secondary students who are enrolled in a social sciences program with a focus on social justice (such as law, criminal justice, social work, sociology, or forensic psychology). Student must be in good standing and enrolled in a school in Nova Scotia.

Please note: past recipients of this award are not eligible to re-apply.

Criteria: Students must complete a short (250-500 word) typed essay in which they describe how their studies and community involvement directly assists in resolving problems that derive from criminal actions and at risk behaviours. Award will be issued March 1, 2016.

Deadline: January 31 st 2016  NOTE: Applications for the 2016 student award are now closed

Value: A minimum of one (1) $750 – $1000 award will be provided. Award winner will be announced at the NS Criminal Justice Association’s Annual General Meeting. Award winner will also receive a one (1) year paid membership to the NS Criminal Justice Association as well as the Canadian Criminal Justice Association.
